Denden Karadeniz is a professional dancer, teacher, choreographer, and founder of Zero Dance Theatre, the first hiphop/contemporary fusion company in the Netherlands known for its expertise in floorwork technique. He began his career as a b-boy in the underground competition scene and has since gained extensive experience in commercial television programs such as The Ultimate Dance Battle, So You Think You Can Dance, and Time to Dance. After completing his education at the dance academy, he further developed his skills in America and Australia, specializing in blending breakdance with contemporary dance, resulting in a unique and innovative style.
Denden collaborates with various dance companies and primarily showcases his own work, enhancing his reputation as a versatile and innovative choreographer. Rooted in the battle scene, with a background in television and a passion for theater, he created a distinctive floorwork technique combining elements of breakdance and contemporary dance. He currently teaches this technique at the Lucia Marthas Institute for Performing Arts in Amsterdam and worldwide.
In 2018, Denden founded his own dance company, Zero Dance Theatre, where he creates performances that blend different dance styles into a powerful movement language. His creative contributions extend beyond theaters to television, concerts, museums, and even the Olympic Games.
He received the Young Amsterdam Awards in 2022, was nominated for the Innovation Award in 2023, and won the Victorie Performing Arts Prize in 2024.
